I am back from not posting, in my defense I was on holiday and only really got to lurk about on LiveJournal when I was bothered enough to cart my laptop all the way over to the bar for the free wi-fi. Even then, I only had however long my battery decided to last.
It was just a typical familiy holiday really, nothing too special, I suppose. Nothing too extravagent. Although I did buy myself some amazing Ray-Ban Wayfarers (my mum was so envious she bought herself a pair) and a bottle of Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume for only £48 (I nearly died of shock when i saw it reduced in the House of Fraser). And Pop-Tarts. I also bought Pop-Tarts.

I did buy Anneke Wills' autobiography at long last and the Marco Polo novelisation (well, I'll certainly never be able to watch it) from the Cardiff Doctor Who exhibition shop. I am terribly exciting. But I spent the rest of the holiday paddling in the sea and bobbing about in the pool. There was also the Banksy exhibition at Bristol City Museum, that was terrific, its on til August, I'd recommend going.

What else?
Inland Revenue has been over taxing me, I had no idea until my mum looked at P60, but I called them today and they're looking into it. Yes. I will also pop over to York's Inquiry Office. But using the student tax calculator on their website, they owe me about £500. Fantastic! And there should be a cheque for me from my bond from my old house. Money is good as of right about now.

Been looking into what I would need to own a pet pig, and good Lord, the amount of forms I'd have to fil in is outrageous... I'll wait til I'm a proper adult. With a proper garden. I'd call my piggy Elvis.

So, Den of Geek made a list of the Top 10 Sexiest Men of Doctor Who, despite the picture of Eugene from the Torchwood episode Random Shoes under the Elton Pope heading, I find it to be a rather obscure list. So naturally, I decided to make my own. Maybe I'll make a lady version one day. I don't identify as any label, but hey, handsome people are handsome people.

I'm particularly fond of the word 'sexy' though... )Oh, I'm on holiday tomorrow for two weeks, so probably very little lj updates. But hey, I'll be tweeting over at @revolutionaren you can follow me but I'm dead boring, just so you know :D

Zut alors, I need an internet connection. I have so much to catch up on, but probably won't. If something important happened to you in the last four days or so and want to share, please do so in the comments.

Now that's out of the way:

I have moved house, hoorah! And what a long, tiring, stressful day that was. My mum and dad came up to help me pack and move and it took three whole car loads to move everthing over, bearing in mind that the car is a flippin' Toyota Previa and we had collapsed the back six seats.
It was all going well, the weather wasn't as hot as it could have been, we emptied my old room, cleaned it up and burnt out the vacuum cleaner with my hair because I molt so goddamn much (that's the second vacuum my hair has destroyed). Then we had to get my bookcase up two flights up stairs into my new room. It got up one flight of stairs perfectly fine, the second? Not quite so much. so we all drove to Homebase bought a screwdriver and hammer (and a pot of sample paint because we had taken so much paint of the walls and railings) and then dismantled the bookcase and put it back together upstairs.
Then because I was going to turn my old single daybed into a sofa kinda thing, we took that upstairs too, but when we started building it I decided it took up far too much room and didn't wan't it anymore.
Long story short: I have not unpacked and I have no flippin' idea where anything is. I'm going to properly sort it all out when I come back from Cardiff.
Other housemates are nice enough, three of them are students and the other is a doctor at the hospital (this is so unbelievable brilliant for me, if I ever come down with something/keel over and die, there's a chance she'll be around to help me out). She can also drive but is also handy as she does offer to drive us to Asda (or the 24hr McDonald's as it was last night)
Last night there was some sort of pyjama midnight dance party in the back garden, the whole thing ended at midnight, but we still got told off by the neighbours twice and we all got calls from the Landlord this morning. I'm only slightly annoyed by this because I've put up with partying neighbours at three in the morning and have never complained once.

Nevermind our crazy student and doctory ways, all is otherwise well.

I also went an bought a HTC Magic, but am currently waiting for my number to swap from O2 to Vodaphone. Should be tomorrow apparently.

Good Lord, I haven't posted for a whole week! To be fair, I've done nothing this entire week apart from spending too much, wallowing in self pity at how intolerably hot my room is and then larking about in my new room on Thursday.

Moving house tomorrow (or should that be later today), I'm dreading it, the actual moving of all my stuff part. I've already taken over boxes of books and DVDs and some other crap, now we just need do dismantle my bed and bookshelves and then take them up two whole flights of slightly spiraled stairs... Oh shit. I can't decide what I like best about my room, the fact that my new bed in in a cubby hole or the fact that when opened, I can stand in my back window. It does make feel like I should be addressing my people though. I can't wait until it snows, and I'll be stood in my window, almost outside in the snow, but with all the benefits of being inside.
I doubt I'm making much sense.

I also bought the Sims 3 today, I just could not resist, the timing just seemed perfect as I just uninstalled the Sims 2 on my old laptop and then did not reinstall it on this. Its really good, the sims look a little odd (I prefer them to be cartoony) but my only major beef is you can't really play more than one family. Well you can, but its all in a sort of 'live time', so if you were playing with Family A and then swapped to Family B, you'd have no control over Family A in the mean while. I'll get used to it, I suppose.

After my little rant at crazy H&M sizes, I went and bought two dresses from there today. There were really nice dresses though. Even so, I still have issues with their jeans. Damn their jeans.

I'm really tired. And am thinking of all the things I still need to do for moving house. OH GOD, GIVE ME STRENGTH.

And the click of the left touch pad button, I had officially finished my second year at uni. Good lord, how has the time flown by so fast?
Well, I now have all of summer to do what I like, which will be nice.

So just what is happening in my life lately? Why do I hardly update anymore?
A quick recap
  1. Me and Kelloggs are going to see Placebo in December at the G-Mex. Well, technically, its called the Manchester Central nowadays but ask any local where the Central is and they'll be a bit confused and ask whether you meant Piccadilly or Victoria station. Its all very exciting, it'll have been three years since we saw Placebo last, here's to hoping she won't die on me this time. (We're so totes going to Font Bar, the food is great, but I just want an excuse for £2 cocktails.) We may or may not go to York aswell.
  2. My Mum, Dad, sisters and I are going to see Walking with Dinosaurs at the MEN Arena at the end of July. Why? Because everything is better with dinosaurs. Alexander, the grumpy moo, is not going.
  3. We're also all going to Alton Towers at some point, with Alice too (Alexander's girlfriend), except Alexander doesn't like rides much, so Alice and I will be going on all the big rides while Alexander takes the girls on the smaller rides. Mum will bag watch.
  4. Apparently, Cardiff in June is not my only holiday this summer, but am also going to a camping rally in Blackpool (classy), I had totally forgotten about this. Alice might also come, or any other of Alexander's manchums.
  5. I'm moving house next Saturday, how scary, I should really post the address for that. Anyhow, tomorrow, my dearest Mummy is coming up to help me pack because I'm just a little bit rubbish.
  6. I also can't get 4oD to work, it plays the little adverts and the 'you're watching 4oD' thing and then the 'Desperate Housewives is sponsered by Kinder Bueno' but do I get to watch Desperate Housewives? No. Why do you forsake me 4oD?!
  7. Speaking of TV, I watched some Crown Court (a 70s daytime tv show about cases in a court... yeah) and it only had Ian flippin' Marter in it. He was a police officer (apparently can only play men in uniform) and sounded much like Harry. But a bit commoner.
  8. Going out tonight to a Wii Party. Will have to come home relatively early, as mum likes to get here for the crack o' dawn.
Is that is? I think so.
I should make something to eat.

So I went and bought a new laptop anyway. Its a Dell and its red! Red! I love red! I have to laugh at the salesman, he was all "it comes in red and pink!" "Omg! Red!" Yeah, I'm slightly worried that the fact its red sold it to me.
I'm so easy, clearly.
But I did manage to get some expensive anti-virus software half price due to my mad haggling skills (hardly, it was mostly myself going "well, why would I pay for that when I get AVG which works perfectly fine for free?".) I'm going to use it on the house PC, because that's always getting itself infected.

My impulsive spending aside, I tried to hand in an essay today. But its Bank Holiday Monday isn't it? So the Theology Office was shut :( Whatever, I emailed to my lecturer and will just give it in in person tomorrow.
Nevermind that, here the concluding paragraph to my 'Theological themes in Doctor Who' essay.
Perhaps, however, we are only seeing these theological themes in Doctor Who because we simply want to, when really its nothing more than family teatime entertainment, to quote the Eighth incarnation of the Doctor; “I love humans, always seeing patterns in things that aren't there”.

I'm looking for a new laptop, I usually just go for Acers but I can't find one I like for cheap enough. So what other laptop brands are any good? Dell? HP? Toshiba? I have no idea. But I have found a really cheap (and red!) Dell, but will it be any good? I dunno.
Do not suggest anything by Apple, because I'm not a sell-out. Although, I did just recieve a phone call from my mum going 'JADE. I'M GOING TO BUY AN IPHONE". Good for you, Mummy, good for you.

I more or less marched into Currys after my 'lecture' and bought the cheapest router I could find. Which is the exact same router David had bought. Good times, good times.
Though I did just fail an essay, so er, yeah. Fail.

Now I just need to play that always fun game of internet catchup *sigh*. So if there's anything you want me to read, just tell me.

I'm also really pleased with the response from my H&M complaining. Awesome.

Still no internet, but what else is new?

Instead, I'm going to sit here and complain about H&M. Or more specifically H&M's dress sizes.
I'm going to go straight to the point, I'm usually a size 14, let's face that hardly makes me morbidly obese, does it? But can I fit into anything that's a size 14 in H&M? No.
How about size 16? No.
What about size 18? More or less, actually. But I'd have to wear a size 20 if I want to fit in a pair of their jeans. I'm just glad that my self-esteem hasn't been shot to pieces by this.
But then when looking at a jumper that was only available in either a XS or a S, the Small looked absolutely huge, so I tried it on and it was fine. Wait, what? I can't imagine how big an actual L would be. So I'm apparently a size 20 but the S fits fine.
And yet, I seem to be the only person affected by this, everyone else I know doesn't seem to have this problem at all. Its absolutely baffling. I reckon its actually my bodyshape that H&M apparently don't cater for. Yeah, probably, especially when I remember that when trying on a pair of size 16 jeans, I couldn't get them past my knees.
Argh! The mind boggles.
I try to avoid H&M usually, unless I want sunglasses or other accessories because they don't usually not fit.

Now, I'm going to go home and sort out my wardrobe into 'keep', 'get rid' and 'I don't quite fit into these just yet, so I'm going to lose lots of weight, well that's the plan anyway'.

ALSO. I HATE STUDENT FINANCE. I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ABLE TO LOG IN YET. ARGH!

I still don't hhave any internet, I'm currrently wasting all my credit accessing hotmail on my phone. Not that I can reply to any emails. Or open emails that'll have lots and lots of images.
Hopefully, when I do move into my new house, everyone will band together and get the internets and a wi-fi router. I should hope so. If we get Sky TV, we might get free broadband and free calls.
in the meanwhile, I've definately been filling the internet shapen hole in my life with copius amounts of E4. Though I may actually go mad if I have to watch the Gilmour Girls ever again. Or however its spelt.

I've been going swimming recently, I'm not particularly very good, I'm quite slow especially on my front. But hopefully the more I go, the more I'll speed up. Still need to join an actual gym, but I bought a sports bra today (amongst several over less practical bras...) so, er, yes.

Also, I'm going on a field trip tomorrow to a Buddhist temple, so I'm going to go to Sainsbobs and buy myself things for a special packed lunch. Like you did back when you were young and going on a school trip and your mum made your packed lunch for a nice change with nice bread and special fillings and assorted snacks that always included those mini-jaffa cakes. Or maybe that was just my family. Ah, memories.
Better pop home and dump my shopping (I have spent far too much, but what else is new?) and then off to Sainsbobs. Yay!

On a final note, I'm feeling really confident about this year's Eurovision. We may actually not come last this year. Woah.

I haven't a clue whats going on in my house. David moved out today, Lindsay's moving out on Sunday. And then Hannah might move back in.
Wait, what?
Our contract doesn't end til the end of June so why is everyone leaving early? Whatever. I don't leave til the 6th June (can't flipping wait!) so potentially, I could be on my own for a while. Hmm.
David has also taken the wi-fi router, which is fair game because he bought it, but hot damn, I would have bought it off him >:(

Other than all that what the fuckery, everything is just uneventful, I handed in my proposal form for my placement with 10 minutes to spare (after I had like, a month to hand it in). I don't want to do a placement but its not like I have a choice in the matter.

I went to see a nurse the other day and told her about my probable brain tumour, she said it sounded more like migraines really. Which completely baffles me, I never had headaches when I was younger and now I have possible and more-likely-than-a-brain-tumour migraines.  Apparently migraines can affect speech, so er, yeah, there we are.

Oh, and I have a DreamWidth account if any actually cares. This may not shock you, but I'll be concentrating on LJ

Also, I'm going to Cardiff on the 18th May for Aran's birthday. Oh, I can't wait!

What on Earth is going on with your hair?
What happened to your cute little mullet?

Er, this was shoddily screencapped by myself from the new video to the new single 'For What It's Worth' by Placebo.

You know how it is, you get invited out to a party so you have a shower, do up your hair, pick out a nice outfit, do up your face, accessorise accordingly and put on your brand new shiny shoes. You know, just generally making an effort.
You head over to the bus stop and then suddenly you get a text "oh sorry, we've had to call it off"

So there I am, stood at a bus stop all dressed up and literally nowhere to go. I tried texting a few people, but they're either at work or not in York.
With no better options and I didn't quite want to go home just then so I walked over to Morrisons. Yes. You heard me right, exciting times for exciting people indeed.
Just as well really for I now have a litre bottle of Mint Baileys for £10. Bargain!

But in the mean while I will take my perfectly applied eyeliner (a first!) and my lovely blue eyebrows (a dark blue this time) which I sprayed with hairspray as so to prevent them rubbing off elsewhere and sit at home watching House or something.

Omg, tomorrow I'm having a delivery from Sainsbobs. That is exciting, no lie.

I have come to the conclusion that 'C' is the worst letter of the alphabet. Nothing good begins with the letter 'C', apart from cake, cosmology and Converse.
I am of course, not speaking about names that begin with 'C', they're actually rather fine and dandy, I actually happen to really like some names that begin with 'C', take Constantine for an example or Claude. No, I'm talking about ordinary nouns that begin with 'C'.

Don't believe me here are a few words to prove my point: crime, crusty, courgette, coprophilia, clitoris, chlamydia, cun- Hohum (!). As you may have noticed all this nouns begin with 'C' ergo, the letter 'C' is the worst letter of the alphabet.

Yes, yes, I'm quite sure there are plenty of really good words that begin with 'C', I'm just failing to think of any at this very moment.

I came to realise this as I decided that I would like a new surname and decided that it must absolutely begin with 'C' and preferably be a noun. I'm not really going to change my name, maybe when I'm older and decided to reinvent myself. I've always complained that 'Jade Cook' is a rediciously dull name, not that my parents ever cared, they gave me a boring name and then gave my sibling slightly more interesting ones instead just to spite me, probably. Hell, if I were a boy I may have been a Sebastian. Sebastian! I'm also completely ignoring the fact that I was originally Kennedy-Jade which then turned into just Jade because my mother changed her mind.

Ashes to Ashes is back tonight! Yeah!

Things I am saving up for
★ A New Laptop

Its coming up to my laptop's second birthday, and you know what they say 'replace your laptop every two years'. Well, they might say that. Or I could just be making it all up, regardless, I would like a new laptop alot. My thinking is that because technology is improving all the time, I will be able to get a much better laptop for the same money I paid for this (£350, if you must know). I'd like an Acer with lots of memory (this only had 60GB (!), so anything else would be a vast improvement (my poking about on eBuyer reveals that 160GB seems to be the norm)). I would then give this current laptop to my mum, though Alexander may possibly get it.

A Sony eBook Reader
So many PDFs, no ability to read them off a computer screen without screwing my eyes over. Very much a luxury purchase and is certainly not something I actually need. Nor will it stop me buying real books. I just want one. May never get round to actually buying it.

★ A House
I aim to own a house sometime before I'm forty. I'm hoping that this current economic climate will be ideal for people like myself and I'll be able to buy a house for cheap. That is the plan. I am that type of person who stands outside Estate Agents with a longing look in my eyes. Even when slightly drunk this one time, I was stood outside an estate agents at 2am and declared that I was going to buy this house. (I may have been drunk at the time but I saved the details of the house as a draft text message in my phone).
I should be so lucky to end up with a three-bed terrace.

Of course, I may just win the lottery some time soon and render this all moot.
